Dressing for the Party Season

Share

Happy Thursday loves!

Please forgive me for the abundance of festive content this week but hey it’s December and with only 17 days left until Christmas there’s no better time to get into the festive spirit. Today I want to discuss dressing for the party season, with so many office parties, corporate parties, blogging parties, dinners etc you’ll most probably need not one but several outfits on hand. Here’s my guide to finding and styling the perfect festive outfit this season.

sequins

Sequins and Glitter

This is an absolute must during the festive season! Nothing screams Christmas more than sequins and glitter. Opt to a sequined dress to make an entrance at your Christmas party this year. Some of my favourite dresses in my collection are my sequinned ones, which I reach for every December. Here are a few from Primark, Miss Selfridge and They always make such a statement and I always receive so many compliments. You can finish the look with gold or silver glitter nails or a glitter pair of heels.

The Classic LBD

If you don’t want to be the centre of attention at your Christmas party, then opting for a little black dress is the solution. A classic LBD represents sophistication, elegance and simplicity. This is probably the easiest option to wear as it comes in a variety of materials such as satin, silk, velvet, nylon etc and best of all, the colour is flattering on everyone, regardless of your shape or size. One of my favourite stores for good quality LBD’s is Esprit, they offer a huge variety of classy little black dresses, perfect for any occasion. Furthermore you can opt for the most basic, simplistic design and dress it up with fabulous accessories such as statement jewellery, embellished heels or a chic designer handbag.

Crimson Red

If you’re trying to impress someone special, red is the colour to go for! Who doesn’t want to be a sexy santa for Christmas? It can be quite tricky to find the perfect red dress, you have to make sure the tone of red is flattering on your skin tone and the style is just right for your body type. However once you find it, it will be worth your while as you will be the belle of the ball! A fierce red dress can make you look eye-catching, sensual and striking. Remember not to go overboard when styling a red dress as the colour speaks for itself. Simple, dainty jewellery with classic black heels, black clutch and red finishing touches such as red lips or red nails.

Will you be wearing any of these trends for your upcoming festive parties?
