Happy Monday everyone!
I have to admit that I only recently became a fan of the nude trend this year. The main reason being is that most brands generalise nude as being one shade, when in-fact nude is a variety of shades. I think one of the first major designers to break the mould was Christian Louboutin when he designed his nude collection of shoes. Five nude shades to suit a variety of women around the world and of course I supported his collection buy purchasing my first ever pair of nude heels. My point is, I respect brands who recognise that beauty comes in all shades, not just one! So when I heard about this new collection from Models Own, I was simply over the moon!
The collection consists of 12 products, 5 nail polishes, 5 lipsticks, 1 eyeshadow palette and 1 translucent powder. The idea behind this collection is to embrace the fresh faced, soft neutral nude trend and best of all, all the products are affordable!
Hypergel Nail Polishes
The nail polishes are by far my favourite products within this collection. Five soft, neutral shades to suit every skin tone. You probably have noticed that gel polishes are all the range at the moment so it’s nice to see a collection from an affordable brand. If you haven’t tried a gel nail polish yet, you need to hop on board fast! These gel polishes contain a hypergel formula, which means it hardens your nails, plus it creates an extra shine. It also contains lotus flower oil to condition, nourish and strengthen your nails. My favourite colours are skin deep and deep tan. Get yours now for just £4.99 each.
Disappointingly these are my least favourite products within the collection. Not because the formula is bad, it’s purely because I have great difficulty finding compatible lipstick shades and formulas for my lips (the joys of having two-toned lips). The formula is incredibly soft and creamy, in-fact so soft that I’ve already damaged one of the bullet’s oops! The problem I have are that the shades are a little too chalky and matte for my dry lips. I feel like it enhances the lines & the cracks so this product definitely isn’t for me. The five shades are very beautiful and I would urge you to try them on at your local counter. Get yours now for just £6.99 each.
This eyeshadow palette is absolutely beautiful! It’s incredibly difficult to find an eyeshadow palette filled with matte shades only. The only other matte palette I own is from Sleek Cosmetics. This will definitely become my go-to palette during autumn/winter as I tend to prefer a matte finish. The palette contains a variety of 10 nude shades, plus a double-sided brush for easy application. Each shade is extremely wearable and perfect for any daytime look. Get yours now for just £14.99.
Finishing Pressed Powder
This might come as a shock to you but I’ve never actually used finishing powder before. I use blot powder to touch up my make-up throughout the day but that’s about it. Perhaps because I never thought translucent powder would work on dark skin. Well since trying this product, I’ve realised my theory couldn’t have been more wrong. Applied in the correct areas, the powder looks amazing and really helps to brighten and mattify the skin. A great product that would suit all skin tones. Get yours now for £9.99.
If you’re looking to expand your make-up collection, I would highly recommend these dare to bare products and remember they’re limited edition so make sure you get yours before they sell out!
