Happy Wednesday loves!
So summer hasn’t officially begun yet but we’re drawing closer to my favourite season of the year every day. Usually I’d start preparing for summer in March/April but this year I’ve felt so uninspired to shop for summer clothes due to the poor weather. I mean come on, it snowed in April! To be fair, even if the weather in London is crap, chances are you’re probably flying somewhere exotic for a summer holiday; therefore you’ll still need new additions to your summer wardrobe. My favourite shops don’t often vary much between seasons but I’ve decided to list 5 of my favourite go-to shops filled with summer goodies!
I’m not going to lie, Topshop is practically my favourite go-to shop for everything regardless of the season. For summer wear I would recommend their dresses, Topshop design the most beautiful floral dresses, day dresses, maxi dresses, you name it, and they have it. Roughly around 60% of the dresses I own are from Topshop because the quality is so good and I have worn them season after season. They’re also great for summer shoes; they design the best heeled open toe sandals and flats in my opinion. I became obsessed with their lace-up flats last summer and now own several pairs in different colours.
River Island is the absolute best when it comes to summer shirts and tops. They design the most beautiful blouses and shirts, always lightweight with superb quality. I own many of their blouses, floral prints and flamboyant colours, great for the office. They also do the best camisole tops, perfect for throwing on, on a hot summer’s day. Their range of summer shoes isn’t bad either, they produce gorgeous, comfortable flat sandals and gladiator styles shoes.
Esprit is a brand I discovered this year and I’m currently obsessed with their summer collection, which is why it’s now one of my go-to shops for summer. They have the prettiest selection of dresses with a lot of boho vibes. They also have a great selection of swimwear, which is perfect for me as I’m off to Istanbul next week. There are so many styles and prints to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Definitely a shop I’ll be spending a lot more time in.
The Outnet is my favourite go-to shop for all things designer. Of course when I say designer, I don’t mean luxury designers, I mean contemporary designers. I’m not one for spending insane amounts of money on clothing (I save that for handbags only) but if I’m ever feeling spendy, the Outnet will always satisfy my craving. For summer wear they’re best for good quality jackets and gilets at discounted prices. I bagged myself an amazing Sandro gilet last year, which I pull out every summer.
I’ve literally gone from designer labels to cheap as chips haha. I mean who doesn’t love a bit of Primark? What I love the most is because the clothing is so affordable and let’s face it, not the best quality. You can literally buy pieces for one season only and then donate it to friends, family, charity etc. A great tip for incorporating the latest trends, which you don’t want hanging in your wardrobe for years. Primark is a great choice for summer wear, they have the cutest summer dresses and two-piece matching sets. Plus they’re great for summer accessories too like straw hats, sunglasses and sandals/fit flops.
I’d love to know what your favourite go-to shops are for the summer?
