Happy Monday loves!
So before I get stuck into this jam packed blog post, I want to inform everyone that I have decided to decrease my blog posts to twice a week instead of three days a week. Why, you ask? Simply because I want to focus more on social media moving forward, plus posting three days a week and balancing a full-time job is taking it’s toll on me. So expect to see new blog posts on Duchess of Fashion every Monday and Thursday from now on.
Today I have an exciting post to share with you all, surprise surprise it’s not related to fashion whatsoever but more of a lifestyle post. This is my second lifestyle post I’ve published on this blog, first was when I met the lovely Amelia Liana back in 2014.
I was kindly invited to the launch of Jamboree Foodfest, a new restaurant based in Southwark specialising in delicious fast food. When I arrived I was greeted to the sound of a steel band performing outside the restaurant (I honestly thought I stepped onto a Caribbean Island for a second) it was a great way to drum up more customers and get the party started.
If you’re a burger junkie, then you’ll love this new burger joint! My friends and I were served unlimited burgers the entire night; let’s not forget unlimited cocktails too (always a bonus)! The menu consists of five burgers, which celebrates flavours from all around the world:
- Raging Bull (Argentinian Beef burger)
- The Jerk (Jamaican Jerk Chicken burger)
- The Yucatan (Mexican Beef burger)
- Maryland (American soft-shell Crab burger)
- Morris Major (Scottish Beef burger)
What I love about the menu is each burger is labelled with a key, which is also labelled on the sides and drinks so you know which sides and drinks accompany your choice of burger perfectly. Of course there is a separate menu with non-burger related food but who am I kidding? I just want all the burgers!
There was a great live band performing on stage and the atmosphere was popping! However there was one issue I had with this venue (you guys know how honest I am and I will only ever tell the truth) my friends and I were at the bar towards the end of the night, we ordered a few cocktails and proceeded to the dancefloor to continue the fun. Little did I know there was a massive worm in side my friend’s glass (I cannot stress how terrified I am of creepy crawlies so I was absolutely horrified)! We returned the drinks to the bar and asked to speak to the manager. The bar staff were not sympathetic or apologetic at all and insisted it was normal to have a giant worm floating in your cocktail. Later the manager arrived and apologised for this incident and replaced our drinks immediately but honestly I thought the level of customer service was pants! Such as shame as the food was superb!
If you want to try a new burger joint in London, I would highly recommend this place just stay away from the bar area if you’re intolerant to worms like me!
P.S. Don’t forget to enter my Micheal Kors competition! In case you didn’t know I’m giving away 2 lovely Micheal kors items, a watch and a handbag. The competition ends TODAY at midnight GMT and is open internationally so make sure you enter now!
